I love the time change! "Saving the daylight" is exactly right -- our carport in the evening is aglow, perfect place for my favorite type of image: backlit portraits!

Golden light

Close to sunset today (7:30) the light reflected off a brick church across the street became this amazing golden portrait light -- here is my son, temporarily interrupted from playing with the dirt near a mound of... hmm... trash? The light can make all the difference:

Happy Birthday, Lily Sophia!

Little Lily entered this world gracefully and determinedly earlier this morning.

I was honored to be there as her mommy's doula. Lily is beautiful and alert and seems to enjoy life already -- may you have a love-filled, long and joyful life, sweet girl! You are born to very loving, wonderful parents.

Thank you, guys, for the privilege of witnessing this miracle. Congratulations to you both!

Here are sweet two-and-a-half year old twin brothers Nicholas and William (same William as in an earlier entry). I am lucky to have the opportunity to photograph them!

Another texture study. I like the way it renders the image timeless and adds a fine art feel to it.
