New Orleans charm
{travel photography}

I’ve had a great time this month attending one of the larger photography conventions of the year (Imaging USA), in New Orleans. Since my in-laws live in south Mississippi, I was able to have my family join me for a little sight-seeing on one of the days (and of course, beignets at Cafe Du Monde!).

Also, as I was leaving town the evening after the last presentation, I was excited to have it rain just enough to give the street a delicious sheen, while staying warm and pleasant outside – so, I found some easy parking (thanks, rain!) in the French Quarter and strolled around for about 45 minutes, bought some po-boy bread, and took some photographs of the wonderful citiscapes – enjoy! mini harvest!

We planted tomatoes this year, from seeds, and today we harvested a handful of red little plump beauties - we got to them before the chipmunks this time!

Fine Art Exhibit, Castleberry Hill
{atlanta fine art photographer}

For the second year in a row, I have some of my fine art pieces on display in the Southern Fried Photography exhibit in Castleberry Hill, in the Granite Room. You might have seen them during this year's Flux 2011 art evening - if not, there is still time, they will be there through next weekend.

Can you spot them? This time I have three framed pieces and several matted ones. The framed ones are "Swing I and II", "Ascent" and "Suspension of Disbelief".

If you haven't been in Castleberry Hill yet, it's a very interesting, eclectic area of our downtown!

Stunning frames!
{atlanta custom photography portrait decor}

I think I am in love with these gorgeous, solid wood, hand made and hand painted frames!

Here are a couple of recent wall pieces I am happily hanging in my studio! They are 16x20, with 4-inch framing. Such beautiful frames are one of the options for the finishing services included with all orders of portraits 11x14 and larger!

Fine Art wall photograph - benefitting Japan

we are grateful each time you share this on Facebook - please click here to pass the word!

As someone who has experienced an earthquake of over 7 degrees, it's almost incomprehensible to imagine one almost 1000 times more intense.

I am auctioning one of my favorite original fine art prints. This one has been exhibited in Castleberry Hill, downtown Atlanta, in Fall 2010 and I have kept it in my personal collection since.

It's a landscape piece with a split-toned finish, picturing a Colorado scene. It's entitled "Homestead" and it was photographed by me during Summer 2010. It is professionally framed by one of Atlanta's best framing company (the Framers on Peachtree) in a beautiful black frame, slightly distressed around the edges.
The print is on the highest quality metallic, textured photopaper. It comes hand-signed on the archival mat, and with a certificate of authenticity affixed on the back.
The finished piece is 22x18in in size, and its value is estimated at over $400.

To make this piece yours, please bid by commenting below. The highest bidder at the end of day March 14th is the winner, and will be asked to provide an email receipt of having donated the winning amount in its entirety to the Red Cross -- Japan Relief.

Thank you! I look forward to involving my dear friends and fans in raising some funds for people who definitely need them!

Please pass this link along to others, and let's see what we can make happen!

I am mostly addressing this to Atlanta bidders, who can then pick it up in NE Atlanta. If you definitely want it shipped elsewhere, we can make it happen (shipping will be about $25).

Fine Art work on display
{marietta fine art photography exhibit}

January ended up being busier than I expected! So, I am a bit behind in announcing that one of my fine art pieces, "Highs and Lows" was on display during the month of January at the Gallery at Paper Mill, in Marietta.

I was happy to be accepted in this juried and judged exhibit, and I am additionally proud that the piece has been given a merit award by the judge.

You can read a bit more about the piece (plus a bio of mine which may have some new info to some of you) here.

Here are a few images from the exhibit - check out this Gallery, it has quite a nice line up of exhibits through the year -- currently showing beautiful Plain Air paintings.

Our own wall decor
{custom home photographic decor}

This artwork is going over our dining table, I am trying to decide between two square gallery wrapped canvases or one single larger one with both images, similar to how it's shown here (with black edges, I think).

Took these silhouettes of Mary and Roy this past weekend during a wonderful evening at the park. I love the golden hour right before sunset!

More Designer Chic card samples

Two more sample cards (I love these colors and patterns!) :

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

Greetings, greetings everywhere!

Over the next few days I will show some examples of the stunning styles I offer my clients for this season's greeting cards.
Cards can be purchased in packs of 24, in 4x5.5 and 5x7 sizes, flat or folded. Folded cards can be imprinted on the outer covers only (two sides) or on the inside spread as well (four sides). See Services, off my website, for regular pricing.

Here are a couple of looks from the Designer Chic card collection (using some images from recent sessions of my good looking families). Text, fonts colors (and evidently the images) are customizable. I will present you with a few choices to pick from (typically two choices for 4-side-imprinted cards, three choices for 2-side-imprinted cards), based on the images we have to work with, your personal style and preferences and my artistic vision.

Cards are a wonderfully versatile and affordable way to share your family's beauty in style -- look at the ongoing specials for offers which make getting cards more affordable and fun than at any other time during the year!

An interesting documentary (7 minutes long):
