More of baby boy and family

A few more of my favorite images from yesterday, of Octavian and his family:

Octavian: 8,8,8,8,8

Sweet little Octavian was born today 08/08/08, weighing 8 lbs 8 oz.

He is obviously a very special little one, and very loved by Mommy, Daddy and super-caring big brother Flavius.

Here is Octavian, at 12 hours old, smiling at the camera!

And a sweet moment with the two brothers getting to know each other:

More pictures will follow in the morning.

Decorative details

From a walk around our neighbourhood tonight: somewhat abstract, colorful patterns and textures are quite visually pleasing when put together.

Motherhood glow

Two more of Mihaela, a couple of weeks before becoming mother of two!

And -- happy birthday to big boy Flavius, who turns six on Wednesday!

Sweet Summer

Summer seems to have the lion share of the year's birthday parties. Here is some recent sweetness I got to delight in:

Things I love

Some things that make me smile:

- baby feet
- a really shallow depth of field (pictures where the focus is on a very narrow plane, and the rest of the image is blurred into an impressionistic blend of shapes and colors)
- Mary

All of them are in this picture, taken today:

And, by the way, Happy August! (one of my most eventful months, historically)

Postprocessing fun

I love playing with the images in my digital lab almost as much as I like taking them. There is still a lot of potential that can be brought out of a picture after it's taken, and sometimes I revisit some of them and work on them some more, as my interests change and my skill set (and tool box) evolve.

Paying it forward

Today, we were photographed by the talented John Michael Cooper. He and his wife Dalisa are on a tour of the country, teaching their workshops. Along the way, they are offering "roadside portraits" to photographers and their families, inspired by the wonderful David Williams.

It is now my turn to photograph a photographer's family, in the spirit of this Pay It Forward project.

If you are a photographer in or around Atlanta, and would like to be my subject (together with your family), please send me an email, telling me when did you have the last pro photographs taken of your family, and any other reasons for which you'd be the perfect candidate.

I am looking to complete this session within the coming 30 days.

Looking forward to doing my part!

Here is a quick image I took today of JMC and the magic sofa during a quiet moment.

100th blog entry!

To celebrate the centennial blog entry, here are some images taken today. Who knew that just a few miles from our house, there is the amazing Henderson park, with a few hiking trails of great beauty? The kids especially enjoyed the rocky, layered waterfall. Can't wait to go back!

Fun at the park

This evening I had the pleasure of photographing what might be the most good looking family I know! They were good sports and played along, including rolling around in drought-dried, prickly grass.
Thanks, guys! We'll miss you when you go back to France...

Here are the gorgeous Lucie and Olivia, and their parents (super quick sneak peek):

My girl

This past weekend, my Mom, my daughter and I went to the park for playing, of course, but also for a photo shoot dedicated to capture some of my daughter's gorgeousness as she approaches the age of 2.

Here are my very favorite images from this outing. I so love my girl!!!

Special offer for July and August (product)

I am introducing a new album which is great for smaller sessions (kids, engagement, birthdays, newborns, maternity, family, boudoir, even a parents' wedding album, etc). They are bonded leather, slip in, holding 40 5x7 size images. They are available in several colors: black, pink, pearl, brown and light blue and come complete with a beautiful fabric-lined black presentation box.
I love the way they mat the images securely and beautifully, and still the pictures can be removed and replaced as needed, unlike from other type of professional albums.
Here are a few images of such an album (the one pictured holds 20 images, the ones I am selling at this time will hold 40 images).

The introductory price is $250, which is an amazing deal, as it's significantly less than the cost of the 40 5x7 prints alone! Grab one now and remember your session in style, with 40 gorgeous images in a high quality album. Beginning in September, they will show up in my regular list of products, at $350 per album.

(stay tuned for another upcoming offer for the Summer months, this time a service rather than a product)

Happy 4th!

Happy 4th birthday anniversary to Indie, my son's close friend. Here she is, beautiful, fun and very very smart, and a great friend as well:

Happy Birthday, America!

To celebrate the country's birthday, here is a composite of the fireworks we enjoyed last night in the city of Duluth, GA.

They were small, but pretty and enjoyed by our small kids (one covering his ears, the other in Mommy's arms). Next year I think we'll be big enough to brave the ones at Atlanta's Lenox square.

I am a few weeks away from becoming a US citizen, after having lived in the country for 13 years, so this is additionally special to me.

Laksha

Here is brand new beautiful baby girl Laksha, at just two days old.

Sleeping, peaceful, snug and comfy:

Smiling in her sleep:

Welcome to the world, little one!
