Super Moon
{atlanta photography}
Tonight's Moon is closer by a little bit to the Earth than it's been since 1993 or so. The moon is at an average of 238,000 miles from the Earth. During the Super Moon, it will be 221,567 miles from the Earth. It being a full moon, on top of it, will make for a beautifully bright experience! Go see if you still can!
My pictures tonight are of a moody moon, bashful behind pear tree branches. (at the bottom below you can see a more "naked" view of the moon as seen on March 18th).
Enjoy! (did you know my undergraduate degree is in Astrophysics and Atomic physics? Always fascinating topics!)
the more orange images were taken earlier, the whiter ones later -- all in the span of about an hour. The positioning of the moons in the composite below is purely artistic :)

Audrey's gift families chosen!
Yes, I did say families, we ended up choosing three families for our Audrey's Gift sessions this Summer, for one grand prize and two special prizes. Couldn't narrow it down to just one, all these people are fighting for normalcy and joy in their lives and we are honored to be bringing a bit of sunshine to them, with these sessions (totalling close to $3,000 in time and products).
Thanks so much for your nominations, and for being a part of this journey!

Fine Art wall photograph - benefitting Japan
we are grateful each time you share this on Facebook - please click here to pass the word!
As someone who has experienced an earthquake of over 7 degrees, it's almost incomprehensible to imagine one almost 1000 times more intense.
I am auctioning one of my favorite original fine art prints. This one has been exhibited in Castleberry Hill, downtown Atlanta, in Fall 2010 and I have kept it in my personal collection since.
It's a landscape piece with a split-toned finish, picturing a Colorado scene. It's entitled "Homestead" and it was photographed by me during Summer 2010. It is professionally framed by one of Atlanta's best framing company (the Framers on Peachtree) in a beautiful black frame, slightly distressed around the edges.
The print is on the highest quality metallic, textured photopaper. It comes hand-signed on the archival mat, and with a certificate of authenticity affixed on the back.
The finished piece is 22x18in in size, and its value is estimated at over $400.
To make this piece yours, please bid by commenting below. The highest bidder at the end of day March 14th is the winner, and will be asked to provide an email receipt of having donated the winning amount in its entirety to the Red Cross -- Japan Relief.
Thank you! I look forward to involving my dear friends and fans in raising some funds for people who definitely need them!
Please pass this link along to others, and let's see what we can make happen!
I am mostly addressing this to Atlanta bidders, who can then pick it up in NE Atlanta. If you definitely want it shipped elsewhere, we can make it happen (shipping will be about $25).

{photography baby plan}
This is one of my favorite sessions ever -- look at the light, the colors, the beauty-filled imagery!
This family is part of my V.I.B plan (Very Important Baby) - and they manage to get more and more gorgeous each time we meet!

Magical Photoshoot
{sibling vintage photography}
It's always a delight photographing these sisters. Enjoy the previews of this gorgeous session, which took place as part of our Childhood Calendar charity journey. You can see them grace our 2011 November page here.
One of the girls is also going to be featured in my upcoming book of portraits of redheaded children!
These girls' beauty is only matched by their free-spirited, wonderful personalities! I look forward to our next session and to the chance to witness them staying true to their inner and outer beauty as they grow into exceptional young ladies!
