baby Tierney is here!{atlanta birth photography}

After many days of courageous prodromal labor, Traci gave birth to baby Tierney today just before noon.

The baby is absolutely beautiful; she measures 20in and weighed in at 7 lbs 7oz.

This was an amazing journey to achieve a safe, loving birth via a VBA2C birth, in the care of the one and only doctor Tate; I am grateful to have been invited to witness this magical moment, as their doula.

Here are some images from this labor of love.

On Christmas night, I spent about 10 hours by Traci's side as she labored patiently:

Best of 2009 contest - preselection: help!!

I need your help narrowing down my quick selection of 65 favorite images taken by Oana Hogrefe Photography in 2009, to 12 finalists. These are mostly from my regular children/family sessions, with a couple of exceptions.

(I did not include the redhead project sessions, as this is still in progress)

We will then have a poll picking the top three winners.

I had a bit of time last night to work on more redhead galleries and previews (thanks to my broken modem and lack of internet connection, which got between me and the immediate holiday orders -- no worries though, coffee shop to the rescue!).

As they are quite popular as a gift or a keepsake, I am sharing an image of a recent 5x7 artbook I made -- excellent to display at home and carry and show off as a brag book!

This book has a custom photo metallic cover and uv-coated pages; it comes with 20 sides and can fit one horizontal or two vertical images per side.

It was pure joy meeting and photographing the members of this family. The grandmother contacted me to create some memorable images during their family reunion; as usual, portraits of the children are what I love the most, so here are sneak peeks of images of the absolutely delightful five grandchildren:
