Is it Summer yet?

Summer is by far my favorite season, and having moved to the South 16 years ago has not changed that a bit!

We have some great news to share this month!
With your help, our 2011 Childhood Calendar has raised $5,630 for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta!
This is such a dear project to me, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for every one of you who signed up their child as a model, passed the word during out voting stages, voted for our child-of-the-month contestants, donated to the fundraiser, purchased or helped us sell these beautiful calendars!
We are now, finalizing the selection of the 2012 beneficiary, and I look forward to letting everyone know our choice soon! Thanks for everyone's suggestions and input via our Facebook outreach, you have suggested some great organizations!
You were there for us, as we reached out during this year's fundraiser -- we want to be there for you, and help a cause or organization dear to your heart.
So, for every session booked during the rest of February (good for any time in 2011), one HUNDRED dollars of the session fee will go to a school or non-profit of your choice.
I am hoping this will help you share the love and give back to your children's school or a favorite charity - email me at oana@shutterview.com and tell me who do **you** love!

"Pure and Simple" -- studio modeling sessions

Three brave families ventured out on the icy streets of Atlanta today to be part of portfolio modeling sessions showcasing the new "Pure and Simple" studio session, to be added to the Oana Hogrefe Photography offerings beginning in February 2011 - aren't my little models absolutely stunning?
The Pure and Simple will be an indoor, weather-proof, shorter session in my studio, featuring clean images with light backgrounds focusing on the subject. It will be available during weekdays only, between 11-2, for 1-2 people sessions. It's perfect as an add-on session for families who already had a Creative Session recently and are looking for newer images to celebrate a milestone. It's also a good way to create quick headshots or special occasion cards.
Our signature Creative Session and Image Session will continue to be available year-round, on location around Atlanta (as well as elsewhere for my select destination clients), and will continue to feature my absolutely favorite type of photography, which uses the environment to support the beauty of people and relationships.

Our Childhood Calendar, which this year benefits Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (100% of profits go to this very worthy non-profit which helps a quarter million kids every year!) was featured on CBS last week.
The Better Mornings Atlanta show recommended the Childhood Calendar as one of their Great Gift Ideas! Thank you, Better Mornings Atlanta!

Special delivery: my weight in calendars!

I just got delivered my weight in calendars!
I am very excited, as this year's project is a labor of love stemming from my work as a Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep volunteer at Egleston and Scottish Rite and in the process developing a deep awe towards Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, their staff, knowledge, facilities and dedication!
100% of the proceeds from sales of these calendars benefit CHOA.
Oana Hogrefe Photography donated over 30 hours of photo sessions, and 50+ hours of design and preparation towards this effort.
28 local families generously participated in the making of the calendar, and many more have been a part of the fundrasing by purchasing votes and pre-ordering calendars.
To date, together we have raised over $3,500 from voting on the finalists and choosing the child-of-the-month featured imagery!
I look forward to seeing how much more of an impact we can make via calendar sales. You can see the design and buy copies via the Childhood Calendar website. We will gladly ship to out-of-towners!
Any suggestions of places you know where we can sell several of them are much appreciated (are you a business owner who can help dispaly these on your site or in your store? would your co-workers be interested? how about people in your parent group or place of worship? they make great gifts for teachers, healthcare providers, and are fun in kids' rooms!).
The calendars will be available until the current batch sells out or until the end of January, whichever comes first.

Voting has begun for the Childhood Calendar featured images -- you may know this is a yearly project I have initiated, which aims to raise funds for children-centered local charities.
The 2011 calendar benefits Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, which is an incredible local non-profit, providing exceptional care for half a million children each year.
I am so excited to see the generosity of so many who believe in this cause!

Charity Calendar photoshoots almost complete!

This month is dedicated to completing the picture-taking for the Childhood Calendar. Despite the 90+F heat and steamy weather, I had a blast meeting the wonderful little ones who are participating in this fundraiser.
In September we'll have our online voting to select the top 10 choice images to use in the calendar; this process will raise further funds for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and in October stay tuned for ways to purchase your very own copy of the calendar!
100% (that's every penny) of the voting and sale funds goes to CHOA, a very worthy institution, whose love for children is only matched by the knowledgeable dedication of their staff.
Here is one of my recent gorgeous models:
And her baby sister who came along for the ride, and whose previews I wanted to post to wish her Happy 1st! What a milestone!

Charity 'Childhood Calendar' model search has begun!
I am beyond excited to announce that the 2011 Childhood Calendar will benefit Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, a not-for-profit organization with whom I became familiar during my work for Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep.
Their care for children is warm, genuine, involved, and nothing short of miraculous. I am happy to be working with several families this year in creating a calendar fundraiser which will donate ALL profits to CHOA!

Sessions will be photographed in May and in August of this year.
