Milan

Gorgeous Milan is a natural in front of the camera. She had seen me photograph some of her classmates earlier, and when her turn came she wasted no time positioning herself in the poses she liked best from what she had seen -- and she chose well, don't you think?

I look forward to being there this weekend, to help you and your family remember your 6th birthday party for a long time to come!

Watch for some fun princess-themed images in a few days or so.

Dylan

Sure, you think this little boy is cute, and you are very right indeed. BUT -- you should hear him TALK! He is so expressive, by the end of the time I spent photographing his class, he had engaged in a full-body passionate explanation of some creatures he saw recently (at the aquarium, I think). So much fun!

Olivia

This is sweet Olivia, who looks like she just walked out straight from a fairy tale:

Rayan

Here is Rayan (or, the way he spelled it out for me:
"r, A, y, a, n"), with his stunning photo-model looks:

Busy girl

Beautiful, smart Georgia sweetly interrupted her busy Montessori morning to allow me to photograph her -- she even graced me with a smile! Thanks, big girl!

And the dog makes three

Here is a quick preview of some of the pictures I took this weekend for Tina and James' engagement session.

I love both grungy, graffiti backgrounds, and wild, tall grass, and to find them both in one spot was great!

Thanks for playing along, guys, I had a lot of fun -- enjoy! I plan to post a couple more images tomorrow.

Smiling siblings

That there are genes controlling cuteness, I suspected for a long time.

But, apparently, there are also genes for sparkling eyes, bright smiles and that unique twinkle in one's eye that is the mark of a smart and super fun person. How do I know this, you ask? It's obvious, if you look at this little sister and her big brother:

See what I mean?

Thanks for letting me take pictures of your brilliance, Emma and Alex!

Growing fast

I had the pleasure of photographing little Amelia a couple of months ago and then again earlier this month.

First, obviously, she's beautiful. Her features are perfect, and she's so very sweet and endearing!

But, on top of this, what amazes me is how much she grew over these past couple of months! She has transformed from this little snuggly cute baby:

To this big girl, well-coordinated and purposeful:

These first years are so full of wonder and explosive skill building, I am always amazed to see how much kids learn in so little time...

What did I learn since two months ago, to even come close to compare to such development?

Anyway, back to Amelia, here is a close-up of her beautiful, thoughtful face:

Glad for the chance to witness your growth, little one!

Happy 4!

Today, one of the world's most bubbly, lively, brilliant little girls celebrated turning FOUR, at the beautiful Red Top Montain lodge.
Stay tuned for a few more pictures tomorrow, for now, here she is inspecting her gourmet cake. Happy birthday, Joanna!

ROFL

Rolling on the floor, laughing -- literally :) Next time you're having trouble visualizing this acronym, remember this image:

Over the hill and through the woods...

... on a walking adventure we go.

I took a few days off blogging due to being in the midst of editing some 300+ school pictures. But, by popular demand, I am back.
I love the way tall grass and little kids look together in pictures -- if you are not a big mower, let me know! Images of children in the overgrown grass can be so striking!

kids rock

Today I had so much fun photographing lots of b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l kids below the age of 3.

Here is one of these willing models. It got much better as time went on.
